in which barbie hatch goes solo

so, electro dance-pop artist, barbie hatch first gained attention when she appeared as a guest vocalist on the N.A.S.A. songs way down and i wanna be your lover. since then, she's also collaborated with swollen members and squeak e. clean and worked with brent nichols and koool g. murder on her upcoming debut album, hypertrophic heart. her first solo venture, the album is filled with an alluring mix of shoegazing, trip-hop, and techno, making hatch's music sure to please.



a perfect example of this is the very likable stars. according to hatch herself, "'Stars' is a little song about the night sky and the feeling of falling in love." woozy 80's style synths, reminiscent in a small way of siouxsie and the banshees, mix with lo-fi, distorted, echo-y vocals to create a sweet ballad of sorts. check it out/download it from the soundcloud below:
