in which breanne düren sings of daydreams

so, i'm going to preface that today's song, daydreams by breanne düren, is pretty much a guilty pleasure song. it's the stuff that adorable and sweet bubblegum pop is made of - innocent lyrics about crushes, a catchy melody, and a singer whose voice radiates fun, ice cream, bff's and butterflies.



breanne düren, who has been singing back-up on owl city's records, is young - and it shows in the exuberance that radiates out of her songs. daydreams, which was remixed by owl city (and it shows, because it's just like a song a female owl city would sing), is filled with rapid lyrics and mystical "i'm i love" sounds. when i listen to it, i'm taken back to junior high and high school, when things were so simple and yet felt so complicated thanks to discovery and bombardment of new emotions.

it's a girly song. it's cute and sweet and innocent and all sorts of pink, adorable things. is it sugary? yes. will a ton of males clamor for this song? doubtful. will girls gravitate to it? you bet. it's like reading a teen girl's diary entry - you know you probably shouldn't be snooping, but you just can't help yourself.
